Logan sustains severe injuries during his battle with Shingen. Kikyou stops Hideki from shooting Logan with a poison dart and assists the wounded Yukio. Hideki brings Mariko to the catacombs, admitting he murdered his father to seize control, then triggers a self-destruct sequence for the building. After intense combat, Logan and Yukio kill Shingen, with Yukio confessing to killing Asumo before she passes away. Logan chases Hideki, enduring a poison dart but turning it against his pursuer. Mariko is struck by a stray bullet and dies after sharing a kiss with Logan. In the post-credits scene, Logan and Kikyou begin their postponed battle.
