Seven individuals travel to Tokyo, where Princess Hinoto reveals that six are the Dragons of Heaven destined to determine Earth's fate. The seventh, teenager Kamui Shirō, assaults Kyougo Monou, guardian of the Tokagushi Temple, to seize a sacred sword. The battle's result remains unclear, but Kyougo is found unharmed the next day while Kamui is ambushed by shikigami disguised as Men in Black. Kamui defeats them using psychic abilities and proceeds to school, where Kyougo’s daughter, Kotori Monou, identifies him as her childhood friend. She attempts to greet him, but Kamui warns her to stay away. Subsequently, Kamui compels Hinoto to cease using her powers to spy on him.
