On Day 3, Onoda rises early to resume work, aiming to recover in the competition despite having covered only 390 km so far. He must complete another 610 km in two days, a task that feels overwhelming. Meanwhile, Manami enters the Sohoku cycling training center to locate the climber Toudou mentioned. Arriving before others, he encounters only Onoda on the track. After Onoda attempts to return a water bottle, Manami proposes a race with the condition that Onoda keeps it if Manami loses. During the race, Manami recognizes Onoda’s rigorous training regimen and tells him to return the bottle at the Inter-High. Onoda then resolves to give his best effort until the end.
