Before the tournament semi-finals, the finalists and their friends share a dinner where the matchups are revealed: Mai faces Yuugi, and Jonouchi takes on Keith Howard. After retiring for the night, Honda, Anzu, and Bakura attempt to uncover how Pegasus cheated during his match against Kaiba. Their investigation leads them to an underground chamber where Pegasus traps them, intending to claim their souls. Just as he is about to succeed, Yami Bakura unexpectedly returns and saves the group by blasting Pegasus with the power of his Millennium Ring. The following morning, Yuugi reflects on his grandfather's advice and considers how he might defeat Pegasus using the Millennium Puzzle.
