On his journey, he meets Yuugi Mutou, who gives him a Winged Kuriboh card. Juudai then faces Cronos de Medici, a professor at the institution, in a duel to secure his place. This match serves as the qualification process for admission to the prestigious school, marking Juudai's first major step toward becoming a professional duelist in this new era of competitive card games.
