Jaden reflects on the events of the previous year and how they altered his life. Meanwhile, Chazz chooses to move back into the Slifer Red dorm instead of helping repaint the Obelisk Dorm blue, where he discovers that Blair Flannigan has joined as the newest freshman. Chancellor Sheppard expresses concern that Jaden remains in the Slifer Red Dorm during his third year despite his abilities. To address this, Sheppard decides to bring in a demanding professor who will push Jaden toward success.
