With the tournament concluded, the protagonists prepare to sail home. Meanwhile, in the Spirit World, the Younger Toguro insists on visiting the most brutal level of the underworld to atone for his past actions. It is revealed that he suffered psychological trauma fifty years ago when a demon named Kairin slaughtered all the students at his dojo. Genkai confronts the Younger Toguro, challenging his tendency to blame himself for his own wrongdoings. Additionally, Genkai is resurrected in the Living World, receiving this status as the prize for winning the tournament.
