Samon and his companions identify a massive Tree of Genesis branch in the ocean as the main core. In the past, Aika learns the truth from Hakaze and decides she must commit suicide to preserve the present timeline and transfer her powers to Megumu. Hakaze attempts to stop her to spare Mahiro and Yoshino from grief, but Aika insists her death is the only way to protect them. Following a fierce battle, Hakaze is defeated and loses consciousness. When she regains awareness, she rushes to Aika's home to find her dead body and a letter intended for Mahiro and Yoshino, to be delivered only after the Tree of Genesis is destroyed.
