Van resides in a small village on Planet Zi, aspiring to become a skilled Zoid pilot like his father, who sacrificed himself to protect the community. After being attacked by desert bandits, Van seeks shelter in some ruins where he encounters an organoid named Zeke. Zeke possesses the unique ability to revive and merge with other Zoids. Van utilizes this power to restore a Shield Liger, which he employs to defeat the attackers. Upon returning to the ruins, he finds a young girl with amnesia trapped inside a pod. Accompanied by his newly acquired Zoids and the enigmatic girl, Van embarks on a journey to uncover her identity while continuing his pursuit of becoming a great Zoid pilot.
