Ruuji's team divides to recruit additional rebels for the fight against Digald. Upon arriving at their initial location, Ruuji, Mii, and Ron discover information regarding the "God's Fury," a catastrophic event that obliterated the highly developed civilization on Planet Zi. An explosion occurs outside the city, prompting Ruuji to investigate the disturbance. He is subsequently ambushed by Zairin, who pilots his new Zoid, Volcano. The Leeo weapons prove ineffective against Volcano's defenses, forcing Ruuji to withdraw from the engagement and retreat from the immediate danger.
