Flight

A retrospective anthology of works by Kuniko Tsurita, who debuted in 1965 as the first new contributor to the newly launched alternative magazine Garo while still in high school. Across science fiction shorts and surrealist pieces she registered the cultural undercurrents of the 1960s, continuing to publish until her death from systemic lupus erythematosus. The volume gathers stories spanning her debut through her final years, including burial scenes, tales of gods, nonsense vignettes, character studies, princess tragedies, struggles to live, diary-like fragments, and later pieces such as The Sea Snake and the Big Dipper and the title work Flight.
