Yuichi was admitted to the hospital during winter for hepatitis. He frequently attempted to leave, often resulting in confrontations with the nurse. While in the adjacent building, he met Rika, a girl his age, who he found strikingly beautiful. Despite her self-centered behavior, he became drawn to her. She manipulated him, yet he remained captivated. Eventually, Rika revealed her own illness, explaining her selfishness—her time was limited.
