A dedicated roleplayer builds every character around a concept and refuses to break character for the length of a playthrough, treating half-hearted commitment as a betrayal of the hobby. Logging into a freshly released title, he takes on the role of a knight carrying a demon sealed inside his arm and throws himself into the part completely. The trouble starts when the logout command stops responding, and repeating it changes nothing. Only then does he grasp how badly trapped he is.
