Kanawa no Kage Rui

In a Japan that remains divided, a temporary truce halts the conflict between the Yamato Imperial Court and the Emishi people in the Tohoku region. Aterui, a leader of a major Emishi clan, receives a visitor from the court named Sanekage. He proposes a joint expedition to hunt a demon that has begun attacking people randomly. The demon was created by a shōmoji performer within the Imperial Court. Despite having no reason to assist his adversaries, Aterui agrees to the journey after Sanekage offers something tied to seeking revenge for the death of Aterui's wife.
