Beryl Gardinant is a retired sword instructor living in a quiet village. Once aspiring to be a great swordsman, he now teaches at his dojo, far removed from the world of fame and recognition. Unexpectedly, a former student visits with news that he has been named a special instructor for the knights of the Liberion Order. Reluctantly, Beryl travels to the capital, where he reunites with several accomplished former pupils, including elite knights, a top-tier wizard, and a high-ranking adventurer. Despite their success, they all seek his guidance, leaving Beryl confused and overwhelmed. He questions whether he can fulfill his new role and if he will ever find peace away from his eager students.
