Manga de Yomu: Genji Monogatari
まんがで読む 源氏物語
This manga adaptation presents the classic "Tale of Genji," originally written by Murasaki Shikibu during the Heian era approximately 1000 years ago. It chronicles the lavish lifestyle and romantic experiences of Genji no Kimi, also called Hikaru Genji due to his exceptional beauty. The story reflects the customs and daily life of the Heian Imperial Court. Through its portrayal of emotional experiences and the pain of parting, the work illustrates the concept of "mono no aware," or the pathos of things. Regarded as the earliest romance novel in the world, it has been translated into numerous languages globally.
