Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse

In 1973, after a six-year Lunar War, an alien species known as the BETA launched an invasion of Earth, killing billions and devastating Eurasia. Though BETA can be killed by conventional weapons, their laser-class units can destroy entire fleets, prompting the development of giant combat suits called Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF). By 2001, the nations of Eurasia have fallen, and survivors work to develop a new TSF in Alaska. Yuuya, a skilled but difficult pilot, is transferred from the US army to a joint US and Japan project. There, he encounters Yui, an imperial soldier. Initially at odds, they gradually build trust. Amid Cold War tensions, the story follows Yui's mission and Yuuya's struggle with his past.
