Oiran Nee-san

The term "oiran," meaning top-ranking courtesans in Edo-period Japan, originated from how kamuro referred to their courtesans as "big sister." The story is set in Shinkiro, a brothel in the Yoshiwara district, focusing on Hashidate, a famously popular and sadistic oiran known as the "Courtesan from Hell." Narrated by her personal kamuro, Namiji, the account reveals a side of Hashidate not widely known. The brothel hosts a range of patrons, including commoners, samurai, and wealthy clients, as Namiji shares these unusual stories.
