Meredith, who grew up in the slums, is surprised to find herself dancing at the palace. Her dance studio, which teaches poor girls, has been invited to perform at the spring festival. The event features a special dance with the prince. During their lesson, Meredith is struck by the prince's emotional detachment. Determined to help him express himself through dance, she devises a plan. She disguises the prince and takes him outside the palace.
