A mysterious figure known as "F" resides in the Paris opera house, possessing magical abilities, musical talent, and a captivating voice. He makes demands that others comply with due to their fear. Christine Daaé, a chorus member and daughter of a violinist, grew up immersed in music. While retrieving a keepsake from the river, she is rescued by a man with red eyes who vanishes quickly. When the lead singer Carlotta withdraws from a performance, Christine is chosen to replace her, though she lacks confidence. Seeking F, she visits a specific balcony and encounters him. She recognizes him as the man who saved her. He introduces himself as Erik and offers to train her, provided she vows to love only music and not him.
