Originally a 4koma comic posted online to support a toy line, it was bundled with special comic inserts in the product packaging. Initially featuring the Beast Wars characters reimagined as adult Transformer enthusiasts, the series later shifted to a more narrative-focused format, aiming to unify the continuity of the Japanese Generation 1 anime and manga. Marketed toward adult collectors and otaku, it used mature and often humorous content filled with fan references, reflecting an effort to revitalize the brand after a decline in popularity among younger audiences. The series ended as TakaraTomy moved toward brand unification with Hasbro, leading to the launch of a new comic line promoting their joint Generations Selects line.
