The arrival of Western culture in Japan led to significant societal changes, including shifts in political power and the rapid adoption of Christianity. While many embraced these changes, others resisted. Iori, a pirate, opposes the Westerners and their allies, launching raids against them. During one such attack, he discovers and rescues two foreign captives. The prisoners keep their identities hidden, but Iori grows interested in their cause.
