Wata no Kuni Hoshi

A young kitten named Chibi-Neko believes she is a human girl and dreams of becoming one. She is unaware she was abandoned and does not understand the difference between cats and people. She is rescued by a recently high school–graduated boy named Tokio, who is unsure about his future. Chibi-Neko grows attached to Tokio and hopes to marry him once she becomes human. Her hopes are shaken when she sees Tokio with another girl, suggesting he is in love with someone else. Meanwhile, a mysterious male cat named Raphael visits her and insists that cats cannot become human. The story explores how Chibi-Neko responds to these revelations.
