A fifth-grade student known for his athletic abilities, Shunichi Domoto, assists his school's sports teams. He challenges a classmate named Benkei in a Yo-Yo match to recover a stolen Yo-Yo for his friend Beso. After defeating Benkei, he faces Seito Hojoin, a highly skilled Yo-Yo player who mocks the activity while defeating him. Seeking to avenge this loss, Shunichi competes in the national Yo-Yo championship, where he acquires new techniques and encounters formidable opponents.
