Fifteen years ago, the world lost access to Heaven when God disappeared, trapping souls in an in-between state. This has halted both the afterlife and human reproduction, causing society to decline. Gravekeepers, enigmatic figures responsible for guiding the dead to their final destination, are the only hope for humanity. Ai, a twelve-year-old and one of the few remaining children, becomes her village's new Gravekeeper. However, a mysterious outsider armed with a gun disrupts the village, exposing hidden truths.
