Fumihiko Matsumaru, a regular office worker without a romantic partner, was ignored when he asked his coworker Miss Tanaka to a movie. As he prepared to discard the unused tickets, a young woman approached and convinced him against wasting them. After watching the film and sharing a meal, he walked her home, discovering they live nearby. Soon after, her apartment was destroyed by fire, leaving her with no place to stay. Aka Onda, a new voice actress, then moved in with Matsumaru. The two began a close but undefined relationship, sharing a home while concealing their arrangement from their respective employers.
