Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari

An uncharismatic otaku named Naofumi Iwatani is summoned to a parallel universe where he is designated as one of four heroes, each given a legendary weapon to prevent the world's prophesied destruction. Assigned the role of the Shield Hero, he is considered the weakest of the group. Soon after, he is betrayed and left alone, without money or allies, possessing only his shield. He must now navigate this new world and strive to fulfill his role as the legendary Shield Hero. The first episode of the series was pre-aired on December 27, 2018, and regular episodes began on January 9, 2019. The initial episode was approximately 47 minutes long, longer than the standard 24-minute runtime.
