Billy Bat

In 1949 Los Angeles, Kevin Yamagata, a Japanese American comic book writer, creates the popular character Billy Bat, a clever detective in the shape of a bat. His success is shaken when he learns he might have copied the character from a drawing he saw in Japan. Troubled, Kevin travels to post-war Japan to locate the original artist. He finds that the character's background is more complex and ancient than he anticipated.
