Twelve years after a family gathering ended in the deaths of her loved ones, Ange Ushiromiya, now eighteen, is the last remaining member of the Ushiromiya family. Rejected by others, Ange turns to a diary left by her cousin, Maria. The diary reveals Maria's daily life, including her school experiences, her bond with a stuffed lion named Sakutarou, and her interest in magic. Ange finds comfort in the diary, which seems to preserve Maria's memory and offers Ange a chance to explore her own connection to magic.
