In 2035, a research project in Japan leads to an accident called the "Burst," resulting in the emergence of an uncontrolled artificial life form known as "Matter" that spreads through Kurobe Gorge. The research city is sealed off by the government. Two years later, 15-year-old Aiko Tachibana, who lost her family in the incident, is told by a new student, Yuya Kanzaki, that she holds a hidden secret. The key to understanding this secret is located at the "Primary Point," the site where the Burst originated.
