Myoga offers Inuyasha a method so that he can gain the power to break barriers. This involves traveling to a village in order to defeat and absorb the blood of a bat demon known for creating impenetrable barriers. It is explained that a bat hanyō named Shiori was given to her grandfather Taigokumaru, the leader of the bat yōkai clan, to ensure peace between the opposing sides.
