Myoga provides Inuyasha with a strategy to acquire the ability to shatter barriers by defeating a bat demon. This requires traveling to a specific village to absorb the creature's blood. The narrative reveals that Shiori, a bat half-demon, was surrendered to her grandfather Taigokumaru, the leader of the bat yōkai clan, to maintain peace between opposing factions. Inuyasha faces a moral dilemma regarding this task. He recognizes that Shiori is an innocent child who shares his half-demon heritage. Despite his empathy for her situation, he remains focused on the necessity of gaining the required power to overcome the barriers that obstruct his path.
