Takao Taniguchi was a skilled baseball player in junior high until he injured his finger and was forced to stop. After entering high school, he often lingered alone after class, gazing at the baseball field. Aiki, the captain of the soccer club, noticed him and invited Takao to join, despite his lack of soccer experience. Takao's athleticism and hard work led to his selection as a regular player. However, Aiki realized Takao still longed for baseball and encouraged him to join the baseball club instead. Initially, Takao struggled to fit in, finding the club's laid-back approach very different from his previous disciplined routine. Over time, the team members began to change as they were inspired by Takao's dedication.
