Ash and friends come upon a castle that has been turned into a clinic that uses Pokémon to aid its patients. But Team Rocket soon arrives and unwittingly traps themselves with Brock in a maze that runs under the castle. After they escape, Zubat evolves into Golbat to stop Team Rocket from stealing Pikachu.
