Apfelland Monogatari

A small and picturesque nation, Apfelland is bordered by Russia, Austria, and Germany. Vel resides in the capital city, Charlottenburg, where he assists Frid, a girl who has been taken against her will due to a radium deposit discovered in her grandfather's old mine. The mine attracts several individuals with differing motives: an American seeking profit, a Polish woman posing as a man to fund a revolution, and Apfelland's government, which seeks closer ties with Germany. Vel and Frid become entangled in these conflicting agendas and uncover the mine's hidden truths.
