Unknown aerial beings called Zai emerge, prompting the development of specialized fighter planes known as "Daughters" and an automated combat system named "Anima," designed in the form of human females. Kei Narutani, a young man with a desire to soar through the skies, becomes involved with Guripen, an Anima regarded as a key asset in the battle against the Zai.
