A 10-year-old boy and his friend encounter a dying man in an alley who reveals that the boy's father committed a famous bank heist. The man urges the children to "never trust anyone" before dying. The boy's friend makes him promise to keep the secret. Shortly after, the boy's father is found dead, and he is placed with his friend's family. The death is classified as an accident, though the boy suspects otherwise. Six years later, he remains troubled by the events and decides to investigate.
