Tetsuo Tosu is a father dealing with work stress and his daughter Reika's defiance. His concerns grow when he discovers a bruise on her face, leading him to learn she has a secret boyfriend involved in a criminal group stealing from her grandparents. When a gang member confronts Tetsuo for investigating and threatens Reika, he kills the man in a moment of desperation. His wife witnesses the act, forcing Tetsuo to deal with the aftermath while evading the criminals. Using knowledge from detective novels and his own intelligence, he tries to avoid capture and protect his family.
