Shounen Shoujo

An 11-year-old boy is frustrated by the absence of personal uniqueness in the world and his own perceived ordinariness. One day, he notices that identifying features like faces, names, and personal details are no longer visible to him, as though marked out. He discovers this is a deadly illness that will kill him before his twelfth birthday. He is pleased, believing he has gained the rare quality of being a "tragic main character" and hopes the illness will be named after him since he is the first to contract it. His satisfaction fades when a girl with the same condition appears, seemingly more distinct than he is, and is expected to die even sooner. Upset that the disease may instead be named for her, he decides to kill her to prevent this.
