The Japanese military carries out a bombing run with the goal of destroying the petrified Godzilla. Instead, Godzilla's outer shell shatters, revealing that it has completed its transformation into a new, fully-terrestrial form, and it releases a massive cloud of red dust that covers all of Tokyo. The military succeed in wounding Godzilla with another bombing run, but Godzilla develops the ability to reshape parts of its body into flexible armor and withstands the blasts. Meanwhile, Jet Jaguar and the Otaki team continue battling the swarm of Kumongas; Jet Jaguar holds off the creatures while the humans take shelter in a nearby building. Yun theorizes that the Catastrophe might be due to the Singular Points becoming more numerous and unstable, and Mei theorizes that Ashihara was trying to stop it from happening. She presents her conclusions to Li, Michael, BB, and Tilda, but they do not believe that the Catastrophe will happen and are more concerned with developing Ashihara's time-bending computer technology. However, Li later admits to Mei that she also believes the Catastrophe is real and entrusts her with finding a way to stop it, before they are attacked by a flock of Rodans. Li is killed by the Rodans, while Mei is forced to flee and take refuge before continuing her journey to India. BB is informed that Salunga has disappeared from the Shiva facility. Gorou and Haberu rescue the trapped civilian from the Kumongas' web, and the humans flee while Jet Jaguar covers them. Jet Jaguar sets the Kumongas' web on fire to act as a diversion, enabling the team to escape on a boat. From out at sea, they see the enormous storm of red dust over Tokyo, and Yun realizes that the Catastrophe is already beginning. (Source: Wikipedia)
