The Japanese military launches an attack on Godzilla; it counterattacks by spewing a cloud of supercooled gas from its mouth, which results in a massive explosion that seemingly kills Godzilla and causes the red dust clouds to dissipate, leaving behind Godzilla's petrified body. The Otaki crew are en-route to Tokyo, when they discover the beached carcass of a Manda that has been partially eaten by something. Satou begins investigating Ashihara to try and find out where he went, while military scientists theorize that Godzilla may actually be undergoing another transformation. Mei and Professor Li reach London, just as the city comes under attack by a group of Mandas and a flock of Rodans. Li takes Mei to Professor Ashihara's former home and explains that Ashihara had attempted to look into the future using a time-bending supercomputer, but discovered evidence of a catastrophe involving the red dust that would take place in 2030, driving him to try and find a way to prevent the catastrophe from happening. Gorou, Yun, Haberu, and Jet Jaguar discover a strange weblike structure covering a building near the dead Manda, and are attacked by a group of six spider-like monsters known as Kumonga. One of the Kumongas almost kills Yun, but he is saved by Jet Jaguar. Jet Jaguar kills all the Kumongas except for one, which escapes along with a captured civilian. As they begin searching for him, the seemingly-dead Kumongas are revived, while dozens more emerge from within the web-covered building. (Source: Wikipedia)
