One evening, as Mendo's goons take count of his many octopus pets, they discover that one named Akumaru is missing; this octopus is known for his adventurous nature, and Mendo orders them to find him before he turns in for the night. Suddenly, in the middle of the night, a terrifying apparition attacks! A week later, Ataru, Lum, Ten and Shinobu arrive to see Mendo, wondering why he has been absent. Although he is initially reluctant, they finally get him to reveal the horrible truth: there is a ghost octopus living on Mendo's head.
