The two fishermen are rescued from the giant sea serpents, which are nicknamed Manda by the media. Michael Steven, another colleague of Professor Li, reveals that the archetypes are made from the red dust, which can only be mined in a few locations around the world. The appearing monsters continue to cause problems: flocks of Rodans are reported all around the world, while the emergences of Anguirus and the Mandas add to the panic. Yun deduces that Anguirus has the ability to foresee the short-term future by vibrating its spines to create an energy field. An operation is carried out to capture Anguirus, which has now grown larger. Gen, an old colleague of Gorou's, tries to kill the monster with a harpoon gun, but the attack fails.
