Nanami Momozono and her familiars, Tomoe and Mizuki, have faced various trials since she became the patron god of Mikage Shrine. The wind god Otohiko invites Nanami to the Divine Assembly in Izumo, where she takes Mizuki along while Tomoe impersonates her at school. Nanami's true goal is to locate the missing Lord Mikage, the shrine's former deity. After her time in Izumo, she meets Botanmaru, a tengu child seeking the goth idol Shinjirou Kurama, who is also a tengu and Botanmaru's prince. Botanmaru wants Shinjirou to return to Mount Kurama to confront Jirou, who has seized control of their home. Nanami soon realizes a more sinister threat exists on the mountain. As she grows into her role as a god, she navigates a tengu rebellion, her growing feelings for Tomoe, and encounters a mysterious man connected to both Tomoe's history and Nanami's destiny.
