第8話: デビモンが幻の屋敷の罠を作り、レオモンとオーガモンが子供たちを襲う。

After the children regrouped, they come under attack by Leomon, a heroic beastman Digimon. When Leomon is joined by his archrival Ogremon, Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Palmon, and Gomamon digivolve to drive the two champion Digimon back. Soon after, the children and their Digimon arrive to a mysterious mansion which turns out to be an illusion created by Devimon, the force behind the Black Gears who wants to kill the "DigiDestined". When Tai's Digivice frees him from the Black Gear's influence, Leomon uses his brief moment of free will to give Tai time to escape as he and his friends end up separated when Devimon breaks File Island into multiple smaller islands.
