Full Power Super Saiyan Gohan shows no willingness to fight, and tries to convince Cell to end the Cell Games by explaining that if his hidden powers are brought to the surface, he will lose control and kill Cell. Counter to Gohan's intentions, this actually intrigues Cell, who decides to deliberately enrage Gohan by inflicting enough pain to force him to unleash his true strength. After watching Gohan take Cell's punishment, Android #16 intervenes.
