Lan and Chaud are led to Netopia to investigate a strange virus disturbance near a research center. There, strange holographic visions of the past appear, and viruses previously believed to be extinct attack in the real world. MegaMan and ProtoMan are also attacked, but they're rescued by a NetNavi named Colonel.
