Bocchan

Botchan, a new teacher, begins his first job unaware of the challenges ahead. He faces students who monitor his actions and play pranks, along with a landlord who sells him useless antiques. Seeking relief, he goes fishing with his only local friend, Hotta, whom he later suspects of causing his troubles. A meeting addressing the students' misconduct reveals a lenient punishment despite the seriousness of their actions. Unexpectedly, Hotta is defended by the faculty, raising questions about the accusations against him. As Botchan uncovers clues about the dean's behavior, he and Hotta join forces to confront the dean's wrongdoing.
