Ciel Phantomhive starts his term at the tradition-bound Weston College. On his first day, he accidentally breaks a rule by stepping on the lawn, but instead of punishment, Prefect Edgar Redmond fixes Ciel's tie, sparing him. Ciel learns about school norms from his classmate McMillan and faces challenges like menial chores and a rough dorm welcome. Sebastian, now undercover as a housemaster, steps in to moderate the hazing. At the headmaster's office, Ciel learns about the prefects' crucial role and the headmaster's absolute authority, setting the stage for his deeper involvement in school governance and mysteries.
