Ciel Phantomhive begins his studies at the traditional Weston College. On his first day, he breaks a rule by stepping on the lawn but is spared punishment when Prefect Edgar Redmond fixes his tie. Ciel learns school norms from classmate McMillan and endures menial chores and a rough dorm welcome. Sebastian, now undercover as a housemaster, intervenes to moderate the hazing. Later, in the headmaster's office, Ciel discovers the prefects' crucial role and the headmaster's absolute authority. This knowledge sets the stage for his deeper involvement in school governance and mysteries.
